2015 has been an eventful year for QACE; so much so we thought we’d share this with you:
January: QACE welcomes its new team members with the appointment of QACE Assessors Tim Ho, Mike Jennings & Captain Hartmut Nickel, together with Administration Officer, Alima Kamara.
January: QACE publishes its new Quality Management System policies and procedure available at qace.co
February: QACE posts its new ISO 9001:2008 certification.
February: QACE provides the first of annual inputs to the development of the marine quality IACS QSCS standard.
May: QACE completes EU assessment compliance actions early.
May: QACE presents at the GREENSeas event in Athens.
May: QACE successfully establishes Tri-Party Agreements with the Recognised Organisations and Accredited Certification Bodies establishing control of the audit and assessment process.
Klaus Grensemann, gave his feedback on the role of QACE towards sustainable shipping during the 2015 GREEN4SEA Forum.

QACE publishes the 2014 Annual Report including sections on the QACE work plan, observation activities, main findings and recommendations.
As a result of QACE observations of audits in 2014, Annex C of the the report, outlines five Collective Recommendations for 2015.
Certification is also a verification of the newly established Quality Management System (QMS) policies and processes QACE QMS

At a dinner after the QACE Annual General Meeting in November, the QACE Board of Directors and Members had the opportunity to thank the retiring Observers .The QACE Executive Secretary, Des Gutteridge, praised Jim Garlige and Colin Spencer for their commitment, professionalism and unstinting service to the industry. “Thanks are not enough”.

Xie joins QACE with a broad base of regulatory and operational experience. With the China Maritime Safety Agency as Director for International Affairs he is also Chairman of the IMO DSC sub-committee. Xie has served within the Agency as Deputy Director Ship Safety and Pollution, London based as Permanent Representative to the IMO and as a flag and port State Section Chief.
QACE holds a Reception before its 2013 Annual General Meeting for its Members, organisations and the individuals who have been influential in its establishment. QACE Chairman, Klaus Grensemann, made a special presentation to Hans Frivold (the previous Executive Secretary) for his tireless and outstanding work and to mark his retirement. QACE President, Robert Giuffra, also made a presentation to the founding Director Victor Santos-Pedro with thanks from the Members for his own outstanding commitment to QACE and work on behalf of QACE.
